  1. There seems to be a new generation Backbone has released. What is it called?
    • Backbone has introduced four updated Backbone One controllers for USB-C and Lightning phones: 
      • Backbone One for iPhone and Android - USB-C (2nd gen)
      • Backbone One - PlayStation Edition for iPhone and Android - USB-C (2nd gen)
      • Backbone One for iPhone - Lightning (2nd gen)
      • Backbone One - PlayStation Edition for iPhone - Lightning (2nd gen)
  2. What are the differences between the 2nd generation and the 1st generation?
    • There are a few key differences:
      • The 2nd generation controller supports a wider range of phones and compatible phone cases via swappable magnetic adapters and increased bridge extension
      • The 2nd generation controller D-pad and face buttons have been updated to ensure even more precise and responsive input
  3. How do I know if I have the 2nd generation or the 1st generation?
    • On the product packaging, look at the bottom of the box on the left side. You will see the words "(2nd generation)".
    • Using your Backbone One, plug in your phone and open the Backbone App.
      • Tap on the hamburger icon on the top left, then tap on the gear icon ⚙️ for settings
      • Tap on “Controller” and then “Controller” again
      • The Model numbers for the Lightning 2nd generation are:
        • “BB-02-P-BR” or “BB-02-P-WS”
      • The Model numbers for the USB-C 2nd generation are:
        • “BB-51-P-B” or “BB-51-P-W”

    • Backbone One (2nd gen) features a magnetic adapter system for improved phone fit with compatible cases.
    • Backbone One (2nd gen) comes with two sets of adapters - large and small.
    • Backbone One (2nd gen) comes with the large adapters installed for case-free play.
    • Users can quickly swap out the large adapters for the small adapters, or remove the adapters entirely to enable play with most phones with cases.
