How to Connect your Steam Games with Nvidia GeForce NOW

NOTE: You need to sign up for Nvidia GeForce NOW to use this feature.

This article is for iOS users only, Android users must download the GeForce Now App on the Google Play Store to play.

 

Using Nvidia GeForce NOW, you can play a large variety of controller-compatible PC games from your device using the Backbone App. GeForce NOW is a tiered membership (that includes a free tier) that connects to 1500+ PC games and allows you to play them from anywhere. In this article, we will be going over how to connect your Steam games and how to utilize a GeForce NOW membership to play those games directly through the Backbone app.

How to Connect Your Steam Account

On the Home Screen of the Backbone App, click on the "Add your Steam Games" bubble in the My Games row. You may find this at the end of the row.

If you want to connect from the settings in the Backbone App, click the menu button in the top left of the screen - the three stacked horizontal lines. Then choose Settings > Connections > Connect Steam Account

On the next page, sign into your steam account. If you don’t have one, sign up for one first.

The green check mark means you're ready to go! If you see warning sign, please refer to the section on how to Fix Your Steam Account.

How to Connect when Your Steam Account is Set to Private

Your privacy settings on Steam must be set to Public for the games to be recognized by the Backbone App. You can give us permission to change the settings for you by clicking "Update for me" button in your settings.

If you prefer to do them manually, head to Steam to update your privacy settings. There will be an error message on the connection bubble until it is resolved.

I Have an Error Message that says "Fix your Steam account"

If you are seeing this message after adjusting your settings or having the app do it automatically, follow the steps below, follow the steps below.

  1. Either click on the bubble in the home screen directly (And skip to Step 5) or, click the menu button in the top left of the Backbone App - the three stacked horizontal lines.
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Go to "Connections"
  4. Choose "Fix your Steam account"
  5. Walk through the steps to set up your Steam profile and change the privacy settings manually
  6. Click "Check if fixed" after to make sure that your changes worked
  7. If it worked, you will see your Steam games on the home page!

Once you've successfully set up the connection to your Steam account, you will find a button on the Home Page that says "View your Steam Games". Click on that to be taken to your linked Steam games menu!
