For those situations when you need a control scheme suited to your unique playstyle, the Backbone app has you covered with button remapping. You can also take advantage of the Backbone Pro's back buttons (M1 and M2) to give you even greater control.
- To customize your button mappings, first, make sure your phone is inserted in your Backbone Pro controller. Head over to the Backbone app and go to Settings > Controller > Controller Profiles.
- Press the + button to create a new controller profile and give it a name. If you already have a controller profile created and wish to edit its button assignments, simply choose the profile.
- Select Button Assignments to pull up an overview of your Backbone Pro controller.
- Depending on the button input you wish to change, use the L1 and R1 buttons to swap between the front or top view of the controller.
- To update a button assignment, choose the button, and then press and hold the new button you wish to assign it to. You'll then see the change reflected on the controller overview screen.
- Press X to save the changes, and you're all set!
Additional Tips
- You also have the option to disable buttons instead of assigning a new button.
- Some buttons must always have an assignment. You'll receive a warning message if a pivotal button is not mapped.
- Any bindings that are different from the default mapping are indicated by an orange circle above the button.
- After making changes, you can press Y on the controller overview screen to reset the entire mapping to default assignments.
- Button assignments cannot be changed in the Backbone app while connected to your phone via Bluetooth.
- A Backbone+ subscription is not required to take advantage of button mapping features.
