This article discusses how to navigate the Backbone App with a controller.
Accessing the Tab Bar
The Backbone App's primary features are split up between Home, Library, and More tabs. You can access these tabs via the Tab Bar by pressing the Hamburger button, and it will expand to show you the 3 options.
After clicking the Hamburger button, the menu will expand and show you the Home, Library, and More tabs. The first tab is the Home screen, which acts as the central hub for the Backbone App.
The Library tab shows Your Games, where you can browse all of your games and launch them from their respective platforms.
The More tab contains shortcuts for Captures, Stream to Twitch, Add a friend, Controller Center (Backbone Pro only), Start a party, Settings, Go to a website (Backbone Browser), and Tutorials.
To close the Tab Bar, press the Hamburger button one time, or press B. To return to the home screen from anywhere in the Backbone app, pressing the B button repeatedly will eventually take you back to the home screen.
Accessing the Side Menu
The Side Menu is another way to access features such as Captures, Social, Twitch, and Settings. To access the Side Menu, press and hold the Hamburger button, or navigate to the top left of the home screen and click on your profile.
When the Side Menu is open, it will expand from the left side of the home screen.
To close the Side Menu, press the Hamburger button one time or press B.
Backbone Button Behavior
There are several additional useful interactions for the Backbone Button.
Note: Backbone Button interactions in the Backbone App are currently not supported when connected to your mobile device via Bluetooth.
Single press the Backbone Button to return to your game
- Note: This interaction is active only when you open the Backbone App while in a game. Otherwise pressing the Backbone Button will take you to your phone's home screen. If you are on your phone's home screen and you press the Backbone Button, the Backbone App will open.
