On the Backbone Pro controller you'll sometimes see an illuminated LED light encircle the orange Backbone button. Use the chart below as a guide for the various colors and blinking patterns.
| LED Light and Behavior | Status |
| White / Flashing slowly | The controller is connected to a device via USB. |
| White / Single flash, fade out | The controller is powered on or off. |
| Blue / Flashing fast | The controller is attempting to pair with other Bluetooth devices. |
| Blue / Flashing slowly | The controller is connecting to a previous Bluetooth device. |
| Blue / Solid | The controller is connected to a device via Bluetooth. |
| Orange / Solid | The controller is at 100% battery. |
| Orange / Flashing slowly | The controller is charging without being connected to phone via wired connection. |
| Red / Flashing slowly | The controller battery is at critical power. |
| Red / Flashing fast | Gameplay capture has been initiated. |
| Red / Solid | The controller battery is low. |
